No more in my backyard!!

 




    Off late it is very disturbing to see the world suffer with pandemic, with shortage of beds, oxygen and vaccines. It shows how uncertain life can be and how people around us can just vanish. While the world is burning, people losing their lives, loved ones, wealth and health, there are a few who are not getting rid off their hatred, ego and negativity in them. Also, they spread the toxcitiy in to others' backyard as well. Hence, I have decided to not let them do it atleast in my life, No - No more in my backyard


    Have curated a list of things that might affect on me or others around me, and when encountered, have decided to make sure to filter it out and remove it accordingly. Have also reasoned it out on why it is on the list.

  1. News Channels - Every single word is emphasized and every event that happens is a breaking news. They are indirectly tuning our brains to expect the worst of everything that happens in the world around us. Decided not to watch any news channels - I will go through headlines twice in a day (9a.m. and 9p.m.) - Doordarshan only. All other News Channels - No more in my backyard.
  2. Social Media - Off late, this is the brain that is driving the world. There is an opinion about everything and every opinion owner feels theirs is the only right one. When people fail to understand that everything that happens around has numerous perspectives and each one might be true from their version - it leads to fights. We need to understand that wherever there is a claim there is conflict. For those of you with freedom of speech, please continue with your opinions, I am just going to shut my doors so that your toxicity would be No more in my backyard.
  3. People - If you hate somebody it is your biggest problem, don't come and vomit my brain with your thoughts. I would like to treat people with love no matter what they do to me. For me to gain this attitude it took years of practice, patience, a lot of learning, and unlearning. I wouldn't want this hard-earned character to be spoiled by anything or anyone. Hence I would be ignoring anything that I feel is negative and would concentrate on being a happy person, and your opinions - No more in my backyard.


Probably this would cover the majority source of toxic, if more is found, would update it here and delete it from my mind. To make sure this to be effective would be doing the following from today.


    • Watch only entertainment on TV / Laptop.
    • Unfriend toxic people on social media.
    • Block toxic people on WhatsApp.
    • For people in personal life, I would say 'Not interested' very politely for toxic topics.

 

I choose to be happy and I want to be happy. If possible come share happiness.
